The Fairbanks Genealogical Society meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month during these months; September, October, November, January, February, March, April, and May.
We will be meeting both in person and on Zoom for most meetings. Members will receive an email link to the Zoom meeting the day before.

Our mission is to share and enjoy the study of genealogy, provide assistance to people with ancestry in Alaska (and beyond) and to locate and preserve genealogical and historical data to make available for future generations.
*We would be honored to attend your Fairbanks history related event.*
DO NOT THROW AWAY your photos or documents, even if you cannot identify the people! We will be glad to document them for current or future research.
Join us in May for our next meeting. We will meet at Clay St Cemetery for a walk. Learn about the history of the cemetery and those that lie beneath. May 27, 6pm.
Our programs are free to attend, even if you are not a member. If you enjoy family history and genealogy, you’ll love attending our meetings.

NOW ON DISPLAY at the Morris Thompson Visitors and Cultural Center! The State Museum traveling exhibit of the Princess Sophia interactive display is free to see.
The Princess Sophia shipwreck was the worst maritime disaster on the west coast in history, occurring on Oct 25, 1918. Over 350 people who were from all over Alaska (including the Fairbanks area) and the Yukon died. This display preserves the history of this event.

We are happy to host history walks at the Clay Street Cemetery if a group would like to meet there. The walks are free but we do accept donations for the FGS. School groups are welcome.
