1903 – 1930 Births, Marriages and Deaths:
This is an index to births, deaths, marriages and divorces as recorded in early Fairbanks, Alaska newspapers (1903 – 1930) for individuals who were affiliated in some way with Alaska or bordering communities in Canada. The Fairbanks newspapers that existed during this period and, therefore, were selected for indexing, were the Fairbanks News (September 1903 – May 1905), the Fairbanks Evening News (May 1905 – June 1907), the Fairbanks Daily News (June 1907 – March 18, 1909) and the Fairbanks Daily News Miner (May 22, 1909 – December 31, 1930).

1940 – 1949 Births, Marriages and Deaths:
This is an index to births, marriages, divorces and deaths reported in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner from 1940 through 1949. All existing issues of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner on microfilm were read, cover to cover, and all entries pertaining to vital life events (births, marriages, divorces and deaths) of Alaskans were extracted. Even the deceased person named in the classifieds, “Notice to Creditors,” was extracted then in the editing process, eliminated if an obituary or any mention of the individual’s death was printed.

1950 – 1955 Births, Marriages and Deaths:
This is an index to births, marriages, divorces and deaths reported in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner from 1950 through 1955. All existing issues of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner on microfilm were read, cover to cover, and all entries pertaining to vital life events (births, marriages, divorces and deaths) of Alaskans were extracted. Even the deceased person named in the classifieds, “Notice to Creditors,” was extracted then in the editing process, eliminated if an obituary or any mention of the individual’s death was printed.

Name Authority File for Fairbanks, Alaska Newspapers 1908 – February 1914:
This index includes over 2,500 surnames of individuals (Alaskans and people in neighboring Canadian communities) whose names appeared in the Fairbanks newspapers – the Fairbanks Daily News (January 1908 – March 18, 1909) and the Fairbanks Daily News Miner (May 22, 1909 – February 1914). The indexers listed every name the first time it appeared in the newspaper (except for the names appearing in the passenger and hotel guest lists).

Vital Statistics – 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010:
These indexes are published separately by year. The births, marriages, divorces, dissolutions, anniversaries, obituaries, and deaths were extracted from the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. Name changes were obtained from the Alaska Court System.
