Hi, I am curious what program this group recommends to create family trees and store family information. I have letters, photos, etc. that I want to make available to my family. Also, I started a tree in Family Tree Maker but now the technology has changed and I don’t have a computer that can read discettes or CDs. I also started one in Ancestry.com but need to keep paying the fees to access it. So, I am wondering what the best tools are. Thank you in advance!
Hi Hild. We also received your email and will write you there. For your Family Tree Maker, it sounds like you have an older version. There is an updated version that is good. This is the link https://www.mackiev.com/ftm/ You can also get RootsMagic. The new version will be out soon. RootsMagic will download all your media from Ancestry, so when your subscription expires, you will have access to EVERYTHING in your tree.
