May Meeting at the Cemetery
Our May meeting will be held at the Clay Street Cemetery, located on Clay St and 7th Ave, Fairbanks. Please park in the parking area at the main gate on Clay St.
We will be walking down the path and talking about select graves, who is buried beneath, and the stories of Fairbanks past. “Even More Stories beyond the Headstones” will be lead by genealogists. Our Fairbanks history is rich with people from all over the world and all walks of life buried here.
This walk will be partially on the path to accommodate those that cannot walk on uneven ground. There are several benches for resting.
Thursday, May 30, at 6pm we will begin the talk, with our Society meeting following. We are looking for a Secretary if you are interested.
This is a FREE event for all ages.
I am in Texas… but I’m looking for my paternal grandfather Avery Lester Moore. If anyone happens upon his grave I Wils greatly appreciate any info.
Hi Brandy, the Clay St Cemetery has early burials, whereas your grandfather passed in 1999. Try contacting Blanchard Funeral Home as they have records for Birch Hill Cemetery burials. Please let me know if he is buried there and I will go get a photo.
